Saturday Tastings

Join us Every Saturdays for a Sneak Peek into outdoor friendly wines this spring and summer.  We will always have a fresh white or rose for you to try out and hopefully find perfect for your  weekend adventure.   Along with this, for those that stick to the reds, we will also have a red open just for you.   These wines will be complimented with a tasting of local meats and cheeses.  More details on that Saturday tasting prior to each weekend.

February 19th BIG (Boat) Wine Tasting  hosted by Juliana

Tasting from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Tuesday, February 19th was a fabulous tasting with  Big Boat. We tasted an array of wines that include old and new world varietals.  The favorites from this evening were:  La Follette, 2011 Pinot Noir-c urrently in stock at shop and 2009 Chateau Laulerie: Montravel AOC  Comtesse de Ségur Rouge.

THE  VALENTINES DAY GIFT BASKET, “TREATS FOR YOUR SWEET”

The $37 basket included a bottle of wine from The Shop,a Pine Street Market Chocolate Mole Salami, local cheese and crackers and Sweet N Sinful Chocolate Truffles and Valentines Dark Chocolate Brownie or Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookie.Perfect basket for a toast, a nibble and a sweet treats.

On Tuesday, January 22nd. Artisan Vines hosted our wine tasting in which we tasted a surprisingly diverse range of Portuguese Wines.
The wines will be accompanied by artisan meats (Pine Street) and cheese (sold in the shop) from local producers.

100 Mile Dinner – Winter on the Lake

Warm your hearts and fill your bellies at Winter on the Lake – the fourth installment of the 100-Mile Dinner in Avondale Estates!

The “100 Mile Dinner” is a series of popup dinners in Avondale Estates. Partnering with various chefs, farmers and friends from our local community, we prepare dishes utilizing ingredients farmed entirely within 100 miles of our neighborhood, featuring some special items that have been grown or raised exclusively for these events.  A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to DEAM, who provide emergency help for local residents to prevent homelessness and hunger.

Wine Tasting on Tuesday Night, May 1st, 2012 from 7 to 9pm was the preview tasting of May’s  exclusive Wine Club wine varietals.  This selection includes both old and new world varietals, that we think you’ll agree is not just worth “taste testing” but also enjoying leisurely at a later date.

High Museum Wine Tasting Event on April 17th!

If you weren’t able to attend The High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction here is was your opportunity to taste some of the Favorite’s from the High Museum Wine Auction.  This auction is considered Atlanta’s greatest food and wine party and the largest fundraising event for the High Museum of Art in 2012.  AT Tuesday’s wine tasting from 7 to 9pm we will be tasting J Rickards Sauvignon Blanc, Henry Estate Pinot Gris, Flying Nymph White- Cass Winery, Henry Estate Pinot Noir, Cass Winery Grenache along with J Rickards Malbec.

Wine Club on Tuesday Night, April 3rd, 2012 from 7 to 9pm for the preview tasting of this month’s Chilean wine varietals.

Chile has a long viticultural history for a New World wine region dating to the 16th century when the Spanish conquistadors brought Vitis vinifera vines with them as they colonized the region.  Chile is now the fifth largest exporter of wines in the world, and the ninth largest producer. The climate has been described as midway between that of California and France. The most common grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere.

Don’t let this gloomy day bring you down,  join us today, March 31st, for a TASTE of Domaine Sorin, a beautifully balanced refreshing rose with a hint of strawberry and herbs.  We will also be tasting Silex Noir, a 2009 Francois Pinon Vourvay,  a rich and succulent white with lingering flavors of honeysuckle, citrus and a touch of sweetness.  Along with the locally produced cheese being served.

Louis/Dressner Tasting with Josefa Concannon

Wednesday October 17th, from 6 to 8pm come and meet Josefa Concannon from Louis/Dressner Selections. These wines…where do I begin? Every wine nerd has a bottle that changes the way they see wine.
